Ban Meata Children's Village Lomsak-Phetchabun

VilliageTeen boys house

The name “Ban Meata” literally means: “A mercy filled house or village”.

Ban Meata Children's village is situated on six acres of land surrounded by farms and rice fields, midway between Bangkok and Chiang Mai in the north.

Ban Meata children’s village with its beautiful rural setting, gardens, trees and dams is home to 95 plus children who reside in seven family-orientated homes, each with its own carer.

Meals are taken together in the communal dining room. This community of children, whose ages range from 3 to 16 years, has an atmosphere of love, family, fun, friendship, joy, happiness, enthusiasm, singing and laughter.

Life was not alway joy and delight for these children. Many have been orphaned by AIDS and the number is growing. Others have been rejected by step-parents. Some were living in appalling conditions.

Most have unbelievable background stories of hurt and hopelessness. Coming to live at Mercy International's Ban Meata Children's village has changed all that.

They now know they are special, that they are loved and they have hope for the future.

These special Children are the sole responsibility of Mercy International and are underwritten by generous sponsors from around the world. Mercy International / House of Mercy Foundation have these children 24 hours a day from cradle to adult-hood.

Jesus Said "Let the little children come to me and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God"

- Matthew 19:14

Ban Meata Children's Village has a staff of 30. They are dedicated to developing and being part of the loving family atmosphere at Ban Meata.
