BAN MEATA CHILDREN’S VILLAGE
PHRAE

THE NAME "BAN MEATA" LITERALLY MEANS:"A MERCY FILLED HOUSE OR VILLAGE"
Phrae is a beautiful progressive city in the north of Thailand, only three hours drive of Chiang Mai. It is a very fertile area, producing two crops of rice per year. However, this province also has a considerable HIV/AIDS problem with many children being orphaned by this hideous epidemic.
Originally our vision was for a high quality children's village on 15 acres of land 17 kms from the city centre. Three children's homes, dining/kitchan area, laundry facilities, first aid centre and four units for teams and visitors, plus a beautifully well equipped swimming pool have already been completed.
This beautiful children's village opened mid 2008 with four baby girls and one two year old boy. AIDS orphans and babies who cannot be cared for by AIDS suffering mothers are the target group for this project.
Our ongoing vision is to see two more children's homes, a recreational centre along with an administration centre, staff parking, kindergarten and school. Funding is required.
